Athletes climbing a wall obstacle at Zulu Challenge

Safety

Safety and participation rules already published on Zulu Challenge pages—gathered in one place without inventing medical or emergency procedures.

Published safety-related rules

This page collects safety and participation rules that are already published on Zulu Challenge challenge pages and the FAQ. It does not add medical advice, insurance claims, emergency scripts or invented obstacle-specific rules.

Age requirements

  • Adults Challenge: participants must be 14 or older.
  • Kids Challenge: age bands 3–7, 8–10 and 11–13 matched to 1 km, 2 km and 3 km courses.
  • K9: no age limit for dogs.

Confirm on Adults, Kids and K9.

Adults tethered team format

Adults stay connected to a team of two or more for the full 5 km with custom harnesses and a mandatory tether. The tether is part of the course—you move and finish together. If you register alone, you are paired with another athlete who also arrives solo.

K9 gear requirements

  • A secure harness and a hands-free leash are required.
  • Aggressive or protective dogs must wear a muzzle at all times on course.
  • All breeds are welcome.

Full K9 notes: K9 Challenge.

Course conditions

Muddy sections and water on course are used only when the park, terrain and weather allow. Course features may be adjusted for conditions on event day. Exact obstacle layouts vary by venue and season and are confirmed closer to event day.

Spectators and city pages

Spectators are welcome on published challenge pages. Hours, venue and registration links live on each city page in the event schedule. Always check your city page before you travel.

Waiver

An approved participant waiver document is not yet published on this website. See the Participation Waiver page for status. Registration checkout happens on Eventbrite; any waiver shown there is controlled by that platform until Zulu Challenge publishes approved master copy here.
